49. Mimosa
Always changing but revolving around the same design. One day, she will reveal her true self to me.

44. Sea of drawings
Healing up, taking forever so sometimes I try and draw. I have no photoshop, no scanner so quality can be soso. Let's start with those done last night.
Random girl 01, was trying out necks and hair.
Random girl 02, trying out the same thing. I find connecting the head with the neck can be quite difficult.
Aeris from Final Fantasy VII, the absolute best.
Maeva, the princess who barely changes. Done with purple col-erase pencil. I really like this one.
Woman based on another drawing on the net. Hate the feet but what can ya do. Top part is the best.
Now for older drawings. Tifa from Final Fantasy VII, even though I hate her with a passion.
Sketch of Maeva where you can see her elf ears. Same dress and circlet since 10-15 years ago.
Random girl for hair purpose
Another hair study
Another profile and hairstyle study
Mermaid because mermaids are fun.
And a col-erase girl, the first drawing I did in my new sketchbook.

34. Where is my mind.
Song of the day
Way out in the water
I see it swimming
Where is my mind
She wasn't supposed to end up being so sad. But it happened.

02. Two of my little girls
Capucine
Drew her by memory.
Mimosa

Young Capucine received a fish whom she named Carbon (Carbone in french) on her birthday. She became the star of my animation short Aquassad -don't even ask, you wont see it ! I haven't drawn her since. Carbon didn't want to come play for today. Another time perhaps.
Drew her by memory.
Before I continue, for those who don't know me, I've been drawn by the sea, the water, the fish, the coral, mermaids and whales before I could draw or focus on something to draw. The little mermaid in 1989 was a revelation I suppose. So whatever school subject I could adapt to underwater settings, I did. My projects had robot aquariums, real aquariums, underwater ruins or fish painted on the walls. With that said, here is the origin of this blog's name.
Mimosa
She is a type of mermaid that has a tail in water, legs on land. The main character of the story I'm writing "Children of the Sea" (working title). Her sidekick is her mysterious, silent (because Mimosa can understand the sea creatures) Octopus called Lotus. Latest design was a large octopus in the water, a small miniature octopus with mini legs on land that rides on Mimosa's shoulder. Completly throwable, shuriken style.
I have the first ten pages written out. This may appear to not be a lot but I find it's important to set out a solid introduction to the characters and considering the fact that I'm also learning how to write decently, it's another learning experience. I know however how the story will flow to different locations and the ending ;) !
At this point however, every time I draw Mimosa, she is not set in stone. The character was born 2 years ago and is in constant evolution :D! Her age changes, her style changes, her clothes change. But she'll keep her green eyes, the lotus trinket in her sea blue/greenish hair and the few scales on her skin.
